Celebrate the New Standards of tomorrow with the vibrant force of Wāhine in Jazz (AKL) and The Listening Collective (WLG) joining forces to showcase female and gender minority musicians that are shaping the sound of jazz in Aotearoa.

Taking inspiration from Terri Lyne Carrington’s New Standards: 101 Lead Sheets by Women Composers, this showcase will feature original works, and arrangements that highlight the breadth of voices often underrepresented on the bandstand.

Wāhine in Jazz is a Tāmaki Makaurau based organisation that advocates for and promotes the development of female and gender diverse jazz musicians in Aotearoa.

The Listening Collective is a Te-Whanganui-a-Tara based group of female and gender diverse musicians that aim to create spaces that uplift and empower individuals in the presentation of their creative work.
