Rooted in the values of connection, care, creativity and community, Wāhine in Jazz (AKL) and The Listening Collective (WLG) are two kaupapa-driven initiatives, aimed to uplift women and gender diversity in improvised musical spaces across Aotearoa. They invite you to join, improvise and collaborate this Wellington Jazz Festival.
The jam will weave influences from Wellington-based saxophonist, composer and educator, Dave Wilson’s model for improvisation; Finding Common Ground - fostering environments for musicians of all abilities to come together and improvise. Let this session invite you to a space where improvisation becomes a language of belonging.
