Na’amah Cheiban is an Auckland-based singer-songwriter, session musician, teacher, and co-founder of Wāhine In Jazz. A graduate of the University of Auckland’s jazz programme, her music reflects the raw honesty of navigating relationships, faith, and mental health in her 20s. With solo guitar and soft, alluring vocals, she crafts intimate jazz-folk songs layered with lyrical melodies and intricate grooves.
Frida Flacks, a rising voice from Wellington’s scene, draws inspiration from artists like Lianne La Havas and Melody Gardot. A graduate of the New Zealand School of Music, she blends harmony, improvisation, and melodic textures to create performances that feel dreamlike and ever-changing.
After first collaborating at the 2024 Wellington Jazz Festival, Na’amah and Frida have built a close artistic bond. Their voices blend together like honey, offering audiences an experience both soulful and comforting—a warm embrace of harmony to start your festival weekend.
