With a career spanning over five decades, Brown's music is well-known in the jazz world, from his own work as a bandleader/composer to his work as a performer alongside names such as Ella Fitzgerald and Oscar Peterson.

The El Jagor Quintet is Sylvester Green on the trumpet, Cameron Boyle on the tenor saxophone, Logan Heppell on the piano, Ranu Wijesuriya on the drums and Jago Watson on the bass.
