RNZAF Blue Soul Brass Band - Pre-festival pop-up

RNZAF Blue Soul Brass is the Royal New Zealand Air Force’s very own NOLA styled second line marching band, and it’ll be leading the people of Wellington through the heart of the city to signify the start of the upcoming Wellington Jazz Festival. It’ll play genuine hits of the second line song book and may even throw in a kiwi classic or two!

Membership is drawn from the larger Royal New Zealand Air Force Band which performs regularly at Parliament, Government House, and Pukeahu National War Memorial - parading for NZDF and Government ceremonies including Anzac Day, state occasions and visiting dignitaries. All members of the band are part-time reservists and hold other professions outside of their RNZAF duties. Most of the ensemble are freelance musicians and hold credits working with the likes of the NZSO, Orchestra Wellington, Shapeshifter, Troy Kingi and L.A.B.
