Ease into Places and Spaces, a vinyl listening excursion celebrating the full spectrum of jazz.
Selectors MAZDEF, Vu and guests will journey from the Blue Note hard bop of Art Blakey, Rollins, Coltrane and Dexter Gordon, through the spiritual explorations of Pharoah Sanders and Lonnie Liston Smith, to the jazz-funk of Donald Byrd, Roy Ayers and Herbie Hancock - and everything in between.
Expect familiar standards, iconic samples, forgotten gems and deep cuts from Bob James, Ronnie Foster, Cortex, Idris Muhammad, James Mason and Freddie Hubbard - the timeless recordings that laid the foundations for hip-hop and inspired generations of producers including J Dilla, Pete Rock and Madlib. Every record will be played exclusively on vinyl through an all-analogue signal chain on the Regent handcrafted Tubs Audio hi-fi system.
Paired with bespoke jazz-inspired cocktails, Places and Spaces begins at 4pm and is the perfect pre-show destination before your festival evening.
