Capital Blues

Pōneke raised guitar slinger Aleister 'Fizzwizard' Campbell storms home from Tāmaki Makaurau to lead a stellar sextet through a set of sophisticated blues by electric guitar pioneer T-Bone Walker.

At the crossroads where Blues and Jazz meet, you'd be sure to find Aaron Thibeaux Walker. Better known to his fans as 'T-Bone', he pioneered the electric guitar in The Blues, directly influencing every great blues player who came after him, and through Chuck Berry on Rock 'n' Roll. Often performing with jazz musicians, his music was refined and sophisticated, infused with the perfect amount of rough edge and grit, and always devilishly swinging.

Joining Aleister for this one-off gig are a sensational Auckland rhythm section, an exuberant Wellington horn section, and special guest Paul Dyne making a rare outing on keys!

Aleister Campbell - guitar, vocals
