Hard working capital city band Wellington Heads perform at the Wellington Jazz Festival. They’ll be playing their blend of original jump blues and swing, 40s / 50’s rhythm and blues styles and including Hawaiian sounds, Caribbean beats, and funky New Orleans grooves. Playing songs from their recent album World Keep On Turning as well as tracks from their extensive back catalogue.

Wellington Heads consists of three core songwriter-musicians (Geoff Keith, Neil Worboys, and Bill Wood) who combine with key musicians to form a larger live and recording band. Their songs comment on life experiences with a distinctive Wellington and New Zealand flavour.

Wellington Heads have evolved their own sound through the influences of Kansas style blue jazz, the swinging rhythm n blues of Louis Jordan and Ray Charles, Chicago blues and infused with Pacific/Hawaiian rhythms, New Orleans grooves and Latino feels.

With their sharp musicianship and infectious energy, Wellington Heads entice people to the dance floor and delight audiences wherever they perform.
