Black After Hours is an open-mic evening at Tāwhiri Warehouse as part of this year’s Wellington Jazz Festival, featuring musicians, poets, spoken-word artists, singers and storytellers from the diaspora celebrating Black artistic expression in Aotearoa.

Presented by Black Creatives Aotearoa, the evening creates a welcoming space for Black artists and communities to connect, share work and celebrate together, while inviting wider Wellington audiences into the richness and diversity of our creativity.

Black After Hours is part of BCA’s wider engagement with Wellington Jazz Festival, building connections between Black artists, audiences and the Festival and creating opportunities for community participation alongside the Festival programme.

Keen to perform? We’d love to hear from Black artists and creatives in Te Whanganui-a-Tara. Get in touch with Black Creatives Aotearoa via socials @blackcreativesaotearoa or email info@blackcreativesaotearoa.com
