Avatar, an Earth, Wind & Fire tribute band, brings the legendary sound of funk, soul, and fusion to San Fran for the Wellington Jazz Festival. Our 17-piece ensemble features all of Earth, Wind & Fire’s top hits along with many more.  

Featuring an exceptional rhythm section, soaring vocals, and an incredible horn section, this tribute captures the spirit, musicianship, and joy of one of the world's most iconic bands. Whether you're a lifelong fan or simply love great live music, this is a celebration of groove, and soul.

Opening for Avatar are Monolithic. Monolithic is exactly what it sounds like: MASSIVE. Born from the New Zealand School of Music —Te Kōkī in Te Whanganui-a-Tara, this six-piece crew bridges deep, pocket-heavy funk with the wide-open sounds of spiritual jazz. Think Tower of Power’s punchy horn lines meeting the spacey sounds of Kamasi Washington. Led by tenor saxophonist Mason Bailey, the lineup brings trumpet, trombone, tenor sax, keys, bass, and drums together into a tight, groove-heavy unit. Fresh on the scene, Monolithic is making its debut at the 2026 Wellington Jazz Festival, bringing tight grooves, punchy horns, and plenty of energy to the stage.
