The Devil’s Gate Outfit

The Devil’s Gate Outfit is a septet featuring a stellar lineup of Wellington's creative jazz musicians including members of the Phoenix Foundation, Orchestra of Spheres, Six Volts, Little Blast Orchestra and Louis Baker’s band. The Devil’s Gate Outfit plays all original compositions, with an emphasis on exploring sophisticated yet unorthodox forms. The group boasts a huge timbral palette, from Indonesian gamelan to synthesizers.

Featuring Anthony Donaldson (drums), Tom Callwood (double bass), Daniel Beban (guitar and electronics), Cory Champion (vibes and percussion), Steve Roche (trumpet and electronics), David Donaldson (percussion and small instruments) and Blair Latham (saxophones and clarinets).
