Original jazz tunes and arrangements inspired by Welsh folk traditions

Local saxophonist Elizabeth Hocking and her trio present a selection of original tunes and arrangements of as part of a programme specially prepared for the Wellington Jazz Festival, inspired by Welsh folk songs and music traditions.

The trio, consisting of bass, saxophone and guitar, takes stylistic inspiration from the 'chamber jazz' approach of the likes of Jimmy Guiffre, particularly in drawing on folk influences.
