Latin American samba-funk rhythm and grooves
Sulco d’Alma are a Wellington-based samba funk band with a groove that draws deep from the syncopated lures of Latin America. They pull a strong influence from prolific artists such as Azymuth and Gene Harris.
The core group is comprised of five members including Jacqui Nyman (bass), Jules Blewman (guitar), Ayrton Foote (keys) and Andreas Lepper (percussion).
They are led by drummer Thomas Friggens, who formed the band in 2015. Since their formation, Sulco d’Alma has developed a unique and hypnotic live performance which captures the skill and sensitivity of these talented musicians. Don’t miss the opportunity to see them perform live.
