Fresh from their sell-out residency at the Cabana for Napier's 30th Anniversary of the Art Deco Festival and their stand-out appearance as a headline act at the National Jazz Festival in Tauranga, High Society is not only smoking hot but a powerhouse of live jazz performance. This team of players have gained strength not only in numbers but by the very individuals in their prestigious co-operative of musicians.
With years of experience under their belts both at national and international level, these performers and educators deliver a passionate and explosive love for their art, paying tribute to the legendary jazz geniuses of the planet with a genuinely entertaining and personality-driven show.
Starring Nicole Chesterman Kircher, actress and cabaret performer, whose vocal influences include country, rock, soul and pop divas Dusty Springfield, Shirley Bassey, Barbara Streisand, Fergie, Post-modern Jukebox, Sheila Jordan, Ella Fitzgerald, Lady Gaga and Lisa Fischer. And her estimable colleagues "Big Bad Bob" Keeton (keys), "The Professor" Greg Crayford (drums), "Mad Dog" Mike Duffy (bass), "The Reverend" Phil Costello (sax), "Lunchbox Matty" Enright (trumpet) and the only good-looking member of the band – Nils Olsen (sax/clarinet).
